Status and Structure
The Technical Center for the Wood and Furniture Industry (CETIBA) is a legal entity of public economic interest, subject to the provisions of the Commercial Companies Code. It has legal personality and financial autonomy, and is under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry. CETIBA was created by order of the Minister of Industry on February 29, 1996, at the request of the profession and in accordance with Law No. 123 of November 28, 1994, relating to industrial technical centers. It began operations at the end of 1997.
CETIBA works to develop the wood and furniture sector by focusing its actions on three main strategic areas:
- Developing the wood and furniture sector by leveraging technology, economics, marketing, and the environment to support companies in innovating through training, technical assistance, testing of finished products and raw materials, etc.
- Undertake actions to upgrade the sector in order to consolidate its position in the local market and conquer new markets through standardization, quality, cutting-edge technology, etc.
- Acquire, centralize, manage, and disseminate scientific and technological information from research and development, technology watch, documentation, etc.
