On May 4, 2018, the Technical Center for the Wood and Furniture Industry (CETIBA) announced the first edition of a furniture design competition at the headquarters of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce, and Handicrafts (UTICA).
In this edition, seven winners received their awards in the presence of Mr. Slim FERIANI, Minister of Industry and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Mr. Taoufik ABBES, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Industry and SMEs, Mr. Khaled SELLAMI, member of the UTICA Executive Board, Mr. Omar BOUZOUADA, Director General of the Technical Center for the Wood and Furniture Industry (CETIBA), Mr. Mhamed BEN HSAN, representative of the National Federation of Wood and Furniture (FNBA), Mr. Arnaud GODVIN, Director of the Nantes Higher School of Woodworking (ESB), industrialists and representatives of the woodworking and furniture sector, public institutions, and media representatives.
This edition was organized in collaboration with the National Federation of Wood and Furniture (FNBA) and in partnership with its counterparts in France, the Nantes School of Woodworking (ESB), and Spain, the Technological Institute of Metalworking, Furniture, Wood, Packaging, and Related Industries (AIDIMME).
The theme of this first edition in 2018 was “Reinventing children's furniture.”
The event was marked by the participation of 60 students and pupils from 16 institutions, including schools of engineering, design, graphic arts, architecture and specialized training centers, both public and private, as well as media, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Industrialists.
